Navigation menu redesign for https://stjohnrestaurant.com

St John’s Restruant who were a client of Foxsoft required a new navigation menu to make the user experience of navigating to the different restaurants they had easier as the old style was quite hard to navigate. I was tasked with redesigning so I first gathered the requirements, asked questions about the parts which were ambiguous to the product owner. I then began by designing a new flexible HTML structure for the navigation menu. I applied CSS styles to create the desired appearance of the navigation menu and used media queries to define responsive styles for different screen sizes. To make the menu open and close when the user hovered or navigated away from the menu item I added Javascript to make this happen. I tested the menu on different screen sizes, the menu actions on a staging server and I then asked the client to test it out they were happy but asked for a few minor improvements, I fixed those and client was very happy as it looked a lot better and the User experience of using the navigation menu was so much better
